Amy Lighter, B.A., J.D. is an immigration law specialist.  She holds an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and graduated second in her class at the University of Tennessee College of Law.  She gained extensive practical experience in law school coordinating the student component of the Tennessee Innocence Project and earning the Pro Bono Certificate for volunteering over 150 hours of her time assisting low-income clients with legal issues.

After spending several years with the Knox County Public Defender’s Community Law Office, Ms. Lighter founded her own practice while based in the Netherlands and California.  The Law Office of Amy Lighter now focuses on solving immigration issues for businesses and families across the world.  At the same time, Ms. Lighter maintains her commitment to pro bono work with students and at naturalization workshops.

Ms. Lighter is licensed to practice law by the state of Tennessee and assists clients from around the world who would like to visit, work, or immigrate to the United States.  She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
